The City of Greater Geelong hosted a forum for local women to say what they thought remained to be done to bring equality, peace and development to their city, nation, international region and the world. I took their messages to the NGO Forum to share them with the world.

"As women we need to redesign our world. How can we live differently, outside the roles assigned to us, unless we change the physical structures that contain and constrain. Redesign our houses, cities, neighborhoods, transport systems, districts, readers, workplaces, homes…"

"The government should recognize lesbian gay couples as families. We need our relationships recognized. Give our kids a bit of security. "

"The underpaid labor of women has to be counted as work. If our work doesn't count then we don't. Counting the value of our work is a first step to paying us women our due and sharing the work more evenly."

"Women with disabilities trying to get education are hampered by: lack of transport, lack of finance, lack of appropriate services and agencies, being harassed unjustly, trying to maintain a house."

"United Nations needs to make greater efforts to increasing numbers of women in its highest posts."

"The rights of women and girls to live our lives free of abuse and violence especially rape and sexual assault must be protected by law. Survivors need well funded services to help them cope with often debilitating injuries resulting from these crimes."
