Commentary
All women need housing, yet some are excluded to a greater extent. Women come to their latter years, after a lifetime of discrimination in the labour market, of less favourable employment conditions and opportunities, far more vulnerable to inadequate housing and homelessness and with a greater life expectancy. These issues are compounded for women with disabilities, lesbians, women of colour, indigenous women and others whose needs vary from a one size fits all approach to housing provision..
