Community Services

Commentary
I saw three or four ‘business services’ booths in Womenstown. In line with the focus on business rather than community, the photocopying was expensive and with the power outages, available only sporadically. Were these facilities adequate or appropriate to the needs of this women’s community?

Given the large quantities of flyers posted and distributed around the Forum many women must have arrived prepared with their own handouts. Many came not knowing where or when they were to conduct workshops, making it difficult to bring adequate flyers. Daily lists of events were posted, though accessing the lists near the registration tent could add an hour of walking and talking time, winding through the kilometres of superfluous fences, taking one well away from the workshop venues.
