In 1995 the internet was still a novelty. Some women, who took their turn on the 100 or so computers available at Womenstown, accessed the internet for the first time.

 

Much of the preparation for the Forum was done via email, a boon for women in the global north, connected to universities or able to access the internet through community centers.
