Reduce, Reuse, Recycle

Commentary
Many questions went through my mind seeing this woman pushing a cart of rubbish up the steep grade. I wondered about her pay and conditions. Maybe this was her job and she was glad to have it, she still had her work cut out for her. I wondered, “Could she equally been a brain surgeon should she had the skill and inclination?” Perhaps she was a brain surgeon taking a week out to volunteer in women’s town?
I felt uncomfortable to have her cleaning up after me. It wasn’t just the vague feeling that I should be responsible for cleaning up my own mess but also that I cared about what happened with things I could no longer use. Would they be put to use by someone else, would they be buried in a landfill? Would they be recycled and made into useful objects like door mats?
