Transportation

Commentary
The trip from the Capital to Womenstown took at least an hour, often longer, on busses with varying levels of amenity. The often bone jarring ride back to the hotel prepared one well for sleep. With waits at either end you could spend four hours a day just getting to where you needed to go, which sounds not so unreasonable until you consider that the Forum was to be held in the heart of the Capital, walking distance from accommodation and eateries, a short bus or taxi ride at most.
Many women find public transportation does not support the patterns of their daily activity. It is often designed around the needs of those in traditional jobs in the paid workforce and not those with family responsibilities or non traditional or non paid employment, roles predominately held by women.
